Dan Santistevan is a Multimedia Producer for the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC) Future Warfare Center’s Space & Missile Defense School (SMDS) having received the highest accreditation in 2016 as an Institution of Excellence, located at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. Santistevan provides technical support expertise in digital media design and Distributed Learning instruction to include creative direction, graphic design, animation, video production, motion graphics, art, illustration, logo design, branding and photography. Photo: Craig Brazeau


Dan’s graphic design artwork has been featured in the U.S. Air Force Space Command’s Overview multimedia presentation and the cover graphic artwork for two publications of the AFSPC High Frontier Journal featuring the Schriever Wargame 2010 Vol 7 No1. and Schriever Wargame 2011 Vol 5 No 4. The last edition of the High Frontier The Journal for Space and Cyberspace Professionals was published August 2011.


Cheyenne Mountain Zoo announced their 2019 Summer Music at the Zoo providing weekend music for guests to enjoy as they tour the Zoo. The stage is located in the pavilion near the Elephant viewing area. Dan Santistevan has been delighted to play acoustic guitar for Sunday performances throughout the Summer beginning June 16th and concluding August 18th. Make sure your Summer vacation plans include a day visit to the world’s only Mountain Zoo. Next performance Sunday August 4th from 10:00 – 3:00 pm.

Santistevan’s video production experience dates back to 1982 with the creation of the six-minute cel animated rock video King’s Elevator. As Executive Producer he spearheaded the project by writing and recording the song as a guitarist in the rock band Once, and collaborating with local Colorado Springs artists at OXO Films and Animart F/X Animation Co. Bob and Linn Trochim, Hollywood animation veterans relocated to Colorado Springs and purchased the Alexander Film Studios animation departmentHe also had hundreds of boxes of beautiful animation cels, purchased from Alexander Film Company, originally used in theatrical commercials, and these contained effects such as sparkles, explosions, etc., which he freely allowed the crew to use in the film. Dan has been an instructor at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center – Bemis School of Art since 2010 teaching an introductory Adobe Photoshop 101 class specializing in digital media design, encouraging students to develop their technical computer skills to express their creative artistic design instincts.

The Bemis School of Art is located behind the Fine Arts Center near Cascade Ave. and Cache La Poudre St. at 818 Pelham Place in downtown Colorado Springs, CO.

BALANCED ROCK was honored to be selected for a fifth consecutive year to perform at the 2019 Manitou Springs Library Summer Lawn Concert Series. The concert performance was held June 11th at 701 Manitou Avenue, in downtown historic Manitou Springs, Colorado.


BALANCED ROCK is looking forward to returning to perform at the beautiful and somewhat secretive setting of Hillside Gardens and Events Center for their 2019 Summer Concert Series. Concert is scheduled to take place Wednesday July 31st from 6:00 -8:30 pm at 1006 S. Institute in Colorado Springs, CO. Mark your calendar! You won’t want to miss this event. Gates open at 6:00 pm.
